Hey,
In response to the "not building on SMP", I've received below quoted
email recently.
All I know for now is that when I last tried, things didn't build on SMP
hence the remark on $website. I forgot what the problem was, really. If
I can find the time, I can try again with a new kernel and a new CVS
checkout of MPlayer. It will require reinstalling my SMP box though as
it currenty runs Solaris 10 :-)
So, thusfar it's a 1:1 score for mga_vid+2.6+SMP (as far as I know
anyway). I don't know which kernel the guy from below used, but maybe
it's an idea to have a go with something newer? Like 2.6.9...

Subject: mga_vid patch to 2.6 kernel
Date: Tue, 26 Oct 2004 15:39:50 +1000
Hi there,
I finally got annoyed about not having full screen MGA and jerky video from
not having the mga_vid module in kernel 2.6 so I went hunting, your link was
2nd in my google search 'mga_vid 2.6'.. I was surprised to find anything out
there to say the least, let alone to be able to download a whole tarball
compile it and find that it works.. I *then* read your 'REMARKS:' about not
compiling it on an SMP kernel, stating that it won't work. Well, my kernel
is an old dual PIII450, I am running an SMP kernel, and mga_vid compiles and
works just fine. So a big THANKS from me for the patch.
