and I'd like to ask
you how to get it work. I downloaded mga-vid-2.6.15-rc5.tar.gz,

Where the heck did you get that from? I did not make a release
for 2.6.15 (not talk about -rc's as i definitly do not have
the time for them)

unpacked, ran make and make install, then depmod -a. I have compiled
mplayer with mga and xmga support, but when I set vo in config to mga
open: No such file or directory
vo_mga: Couldn't open /dev/mga_vid
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

Check the permissions of the file and it's major number.

modprobe mga_vid does does segfault and when I run it in

Segfault? What command did you use, which program did segfault?

/lib/modules/2.6.14-archck7/extra , it does nothing (it neither
creates devices nor puts some test output to the console).
And after restart lnsmod says, that I have no mga_vid loaded. Is there
problem with udev (ver 0.0.79) or just bad version of mga_vid?

My mga_vid versions don't have udev support (didn't had the time
to incoperate the patches i got), but i doubt that this will
be a problem.

, it should work fine with udev (i use it myself).

I have the following added to udev rules :

***@moon:~$ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/mga_vid.rules
KERNEL="mga_vid", NAME="%k", MODE="0660", GROUP="video"

vo_mga: Couldn't open /dev/mga_vid

Vít, could you send the output of 'ls -l /dev/mga_vid'?
