Hi all,
when I start mga_vid_test it displays the expected stuff on my tv but if I start
mplayer (e.g. "mplayer -vo mga -fs /data/pics/davos0303/tst.avi") it fails the
following output:
-- start --
Testing MGA G400 Backend Scaler with 32 MB of RAM
mga_vid_base = 0xb7da4000
(1) There should be a green square, offset by 10 pixels from
the upper left corner displayed
(2) There should be a cool mosaic like pattern now.
(3) There should be a color blend with black, red, purple, blue
corners (starting top left going CW)
data:/home/swen# mplayer -vo mga -fs /data/pics/davos0303/tst.avi

I currently try it as root to avoid any permission problems before the other
problems are resolved.

Any ideas whats missing? If I understand it correclty the config files are just
optional and the (internal) defaults should be ok.

Thanks,

This sounds like MPlayer was compiled w/o mga support.
Please check with mplayer -vo help whether you really have it.
Note that ./configure checks whether /dev/mga_vid is present
to determine whether mga support is desired or not.
Please next time use the -v switch, as it gives much more information
about your system and about MPlayer.
