Hello,

there is a plugin for vdr, vdr-xine that use xine to play HDTV material.
With my Matrox G550 I can't play HDTV mpeg2 files (1920x1080) without
reducing to 50% under xine (I have to use xshm because it seems xv has a
limit to 1024x1024 with my Matrox...). I need to add #demux:mpeg_pes to
xine to play it, but I haven't found the equivalent in mplayer ?

mplayer has something really great: xmga, could that help to play such
large file without changing my gfx card ?

Is my mplayer version too old (I use mplayer-1.0_pre5-r4 in
gentoo-amd64) ?

Thank you very much,

Good question. It seems xmga cannot scale frame size down, only up.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software(mga_vid.c) limitation.
